Selena Gomez has been staple on TV, in movies and music for years now and the time has come that her story is getting the Hollywood treatment. That's right, it was announced that Sel is set to executive produce, along with her mom Mandy Teefey, a scripted drama for Lifetime, based on her actual life. EXCUSE US WHILE WE FREAK OUT.
The show is going to focus on what her life has been like dealing with being a singer and actress, and will tell the story "through through the eyes of her friends who quickly become her most trusted inner circle," according to the official description. This is such an interesting spin on the idea! Although there's no word yet if she's going to play herself or even have a cameo in the show, the fact that Selena is actually going to be so heavily involved in the project proves it's going to not only stay true to who she is, but it's going to be a great story.
She's also executive producing another drama series for Freeform, and the adaption of the novel 13 Reasons Why on Netflix. Girl is slaying the game right now and since she's accomplished so much, it's only natural her life is being made into a series. What a time.
